The tasks and responsibilities of the role mainly include energy performance improvement studies, but also benchmarking studies, identifying and characterizing constraints and inefficiencies in existing and proposed processes, performing simulations and executing facility models, reviewing options and solutions in collaboration with R + D, senior internal consultants, technology vendors and OEMs and submitting detailed reports and proposals to clients for review.
Candidates should offer significant experience in supporting and developing refinery energy operations and utility units, ideally, but not necessarily, gained with a production company. Areas of particular interest include exposure to energy efficiency studies and site surveys, performing pinch analyzes, performing and reviewing utility system modeling, preparation and review of process and site energy balances in terms of fuel, steam and cooling, energy consumption and economy analysis and provide energy technology and equipment recommendations. Skills should include optimization / debottlenecking, design development (including PFD and P&ID) and process simulations. Operational / technical site support experience for energy installations such as boilers. heat exchangers and turbines, etc. would be welcome Working as part of a team in the process consulting industry, typical projects include profit improvement programs, strategic analysis, operational excellence, troubleshooting process and factory optimization. Candidates should be familiar with static and transient downstream software packages such as HYSYS, Aspen + and those associated with pinch technology
