Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) hired Karen Carriere as Executive Director of Technical Services.

Carriere will oversee the Association of American Railroads (AAR) technical committees that develop, maintain and enforce North American rail interchange rules, mechanical standards and component specifications.

“The industry depends on TTCI to provide technical services that support the rulemaking process. I know Karen’s long experience as a member of the AAR technical committees will allow her to be very successful in this new role, ”TTCI President Lisa Stabler said in a press release.

Carriere brings more than 25 years of technical experience in railway operation and management. Prior to joining TTCI, she was Vice President of Technical Services for Wabtec Corp.

Carriere has participated in several AAR technical working groups and waiver committees, and has served as president of the Air Brake Association and past president of the Canadian Air Brake Association.
