The Sales Engineer-Flow Products is responsible for strategic sales/business development (end users and EPC) for Emerson’s core flow products business in Nigeria, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea, as well as maintaining and maintaining key relationships and business/project activities in the sub-region.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Drive for full scope of supply (i.e. first choice supplier) for EMERSON flowmeters and metering solutions etc. at the respective customers
  • Work with customer service (inside sales reps) to generate quotes, provide technical information and support strategic customers (end users and EPCs).
  • Provide information on competitive improvements and positioning, customer preferences, project activity, and other competitive/market data.
  • Maintain and manage the quota of bookings that must be reported monthly for sales and forecasting purposes.
  • Work closely with the local business partner (LBP) to maximize potential.
  • Prepare and submit monthly forecasts in collaboration with the BU Sales Director
  • Establish plans and strategies to protect, grow and forecast the core business of the product line.
  • To participate in industry functions and trade shows. Lead and execute the standard cost process
  • Direct and execute inventory classification programs
  • Ensure that the E&O and item scrapping process is managed and supported properly
  • Work closely with logistics on duty waiver and any other cost saving programs
  • Measure KPIs, identify and work on targets
  • Administer appropriate terms and conditions and ensure compliance with Fisher procedures and trade compliance for new vendor setup
  • Ensure a competitive and technically competent supply base, to meet quality, delivery, service and cost objectives
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a comprehensive business plan and strategy for the National Strategic Accounts in close coordination with the Country Manager and Business Unit Management. Ensure tactical implementation of the business plan is consistent with MSOL BU initiatives and alignment with business unit sales targets, growth CAGR (forecast efforts/plans) and market penetration new products.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and codes of business ethics and ensure they are communicated and implemented throughout the sales channel; i.e. safety, quality and compliance
  • Lead/participate in communications meetings to provide feedback on sales (wins and losses), competitive dynamics, customer preferences/perceptions, and other economic/market factors that drive and protect core business and contribute product development efforts.

What do I need to be considered for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
  • Familiar with field instruments and flowmeters
  • Must have some experience in oil and gas measurement and flow technologies with proven success in sales and sales management
