Ahmed said, “At the end of the page, he was informed that his device will be unlocked within 24 hours once he pays $100 to a specific receipt numbered bank account that appears on the screen.

“Within seven days, all violations would be addressed. But failing that, his device would be turned off again and a complaint would be filed against him with the possibility of further fines.”

Given these threat levels, the victim turned to secure websites and Ahmed’s tech support email accounts for help. The team discovered that one of the links on the computer was hiding malware.”

Ahmed added: “If such a malicious virus is inserted into a computer, its owner cannot use it at all, even if he acquiesces to the demands contained therein. Further investigation by my team allowed them to successfully deal with the malware. to perform an advanced formatting or deep cleaning of the computer.”

He warned: “One of the negative aspects of such a virus is that it completely disables the use of the computer. The danger of this virus is that it was designed by professionals.

“We have fixed the problem, and the security services are now monitoring this incident. Anyone who has received such a virus must inform the security authorities so that they can take the necessary measures.”
