6 x Technical Support Agents within our highway service at Lancashire County Council.
It is a dynamic and innovative team resulting from the merger of construction and network services to form Lancashire Road Services. We have demonstrated our ability to provide both highway maintenance and several million pounds road infrastructure projects. This success has earned the trust of stakeholders, meaning we are now the ‘vendor of choice’ for roadside services in Lancashire. We are delighted that with increased funding and projects, we are now able to invest further and expand our team. Many positions have been filled through our internal learning and development programs, but we are always looking for more talented people to join us with the drive, determination and ambition to grow their careers in Lancashire. So if you have a background in customer services, help desk contact, general administration, technical support or something similar, this role could be for you; especially if you like working in a large team with development bags available.
What we are looking for…
Customer focused – we are looking for six diverse and customer-focused people to work as Technical Support Officers within our fantastic Highways department – so we are looking for ambitious, polite and committed people who have strong administrative skills with a focused approach on the customer – your main driver will be the pride you have in your job as you will be the first point of contact representing the extended team – so you will be passionate about what we do as a service and understand the importance of your role for us – you will be able to take ownership of your role with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed, plus you will be naturally curious about your approach, thinking on your feet to streamline processes as you go needs
Administrative AND technical skills – if you are looking for more than a regular administrative role this would be great for you as it is administrative, customer focused but also with a strong technical element which you may already have or you will be delighted to develop these skills – we are looking for people with a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze and compile data, correlate and produce job information records and support other technical functions – we will need that you are comfortable with the MS Office suite and ideally have experience of using bespoke data management systems e.g. HAM or similar, or simply keen to learn more
Communication – you will be good at communicating clearly and confidently and building dynamic working relationships with a range of people – so you will have the ability to articulate the technical knowledge you have acquired to others and understand the importance of being part of of a team – you will have a lot of enthusiasm for working collaboratively and we would like you to be warm, welcoming and ready to exceed customer expectations, while having the resilience to meet challenges and the ability to keep an approach professional at all times – you will support each team as required, so your adaptability and ability to work in various locations in Lancashire will be essential depending on the needs of the business – however, you may be able to claim travel expenses when required work from a different depot than your main place of work – (conditions apply).
