China-based fuel testing and consulting company Maritec (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. will begin fuel testing and technical services for supply vessels at all Chinese ports from June 1, 2021.
The company has a Shanghai-based laboratory with an area of 2000 m2 and uses the “Maritec Fuel Expert System” used in its Singapore laboratory.
This includes routine testing to ISO 8217, fuel system verification, improved analysis, and more advanced testing and analysis.
“Our Fuel Expert system provides personalized advice on a vessel’s individual fuel test data, highlighting fuel quality characteristics and any potential issues that may be present. This provides greater assurance to vessel operators and managers that their vessels’ fuel systems are functioning optimally, safely and efficiently, ”said Jay Chan, Managing Director of Maritec (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.
In addition to providing quality assurance testing during bunkering, historical data accumulated and solutions stored in the Maritec Fuel Expert system are able to provide more detailed and accurate recommendations regarding fuel storage, blending / blending and pre-combustion trends throughout the operational voyage of the vessel.
As technology is constantly evolving, Chan said it “brings added value to our customers. It sets Maritec apart from other Independent Testing Laboratory (ITLs) in terms of technical capability and quality of service.”
