The framework will run for an initial period of three years, providing Drax with additional engineering resources to support its efforts to manage the intermittent profile of renewable power generation from the wider grid and enhance security of supply. . Black & Veatch will provide the company with:

  • Additional operational and business performance thanks to technical capabilities and capabilities

  • Engineering and technical support to increase the resources of the internal team

  • Support program management and project delivery, from product development to decommissioning

“To provide Drax with in-depth strength, we will use not only our UK electricity professionals, but also the expertise of our entire global electricity business. Over the past six years, Black & Veatch has been ranked second in the energy field in the ENR Top 500 Design Firms report in the United States. This gives a sense of the world-class talent that Drax will be able to draw upon, ”added Harmer.

Drax’s victory comes at an important time for Black & Veatch’s global electrical business with the recent announcement that the company will cease involvement in all new design and construction of coal-based power.
